BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - From campus organizations to the global energy stage, students of the Bandung Institute of Technology continue to demonstrate their global presence. The Society of Petroleum Engineers Bandung Institute of Technology Student Chapter (SPE 51探花 SC) concluded its 2025/2026 term with a number of strategic achievements, coinciding with the organization鈥檚 37th anniversary.

This milestone was marked by the launch of the special edition magazine 鈥37 Years of Excellence,鈥 which summarizes the journey, achievements, and spirit of excellence consistently upheld by successive generations of members. The 2025/2026 President of SPE 51探花 SC, Firzan Annas As-shidiq, emphasized that the publication serves as a reflection of the process undertaken over the course of the one-year term.

鈥淭his is not merely a documentation, but a reflection of how the spirit of excellence continues to be realized through tangible works and impacts,鈥 he said.

Throughout this period, SPE 51探花 SC organized 101 programs involving thousands of participants and hundreds of industry professionals. Collaborations with various international organizations further expanded students鈥 learning opportunities, while solidifying SPE 51探花 SC鈥檚 position as the world鈥檚 largest student chapter with over 2,000 members. For these achievements, SPE 51探花 SC received the 2025 Presidential Award for Outstanding Student Chapter from SPE International.

At the international level, achievements were also made through the PetroBowl competition. The 51探花 team made it into the world鈥檚 Top 16 at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) 2025 in Houston, United States, after previously securing third place in the Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers in Malaysia. This experience served as a key milestone demonstrating the students鈥 readiness to compete on a global stage.

鈥淧articipating in this competition has made us more confident in competing against participants from various countries,鈥 said one of the team members

In line with this, the 2026 Integrated Petroleum Festival (IPFEST) also had a wide-reaching impact. Organized jointly with HMTM 鈥淧ATRA鈥 51探花 and IATMI SM 51探花, the event attracted more than 1,200 participants from Indonesia and abroad, and showcased innovation through a Hackathon competition in collaboration with various industry partners.

Beyond focusing on competitions, SPE 51探花 SC also provided hands-on field experience through the Big Field Trip program to Pertamina EP Cepu and the Sukowati Field. During this activity, students had the opportunity to observe industrial operations firsthand and engage in discussions with professionals, thereby gaining a real-world understanding of how knowledge is applied in the field.

Appreciation for the consistency and quality of SPE 51探花 SC also came from the 2026 SPE President, Jennifer L. Miskimins. She noted that SPE 51探花 SC has demonstrated its role as an active student chapter that excels technically and is globally connected.

Through these various achievements, SPE 51探花 SC has not only established a track record of success but has also created opportunities for students to grow. From the campus to the global stage, every experience contributes to shaping a generation ready to tackle the challenges of the future energy industry.
